Drones for Heritage Sites: Documentation Without Unnecessary Site Visits

Aerial and close-range imagery of protected buildings for construction supervision, renovations, and heritage records — with attention to regulation and coordination with heritage authorities.

Heritage-protected buildings require regular condition documentation — facades, roofs, surroundings, access routes. A drone captures the whole building and details from a safe distance without erecting scaffolding across the site or making repeated trips.

Typical applications

Construction history before and after intervention, inspection of roofs and towers, orthophoto of castle or monastery grounds, 3D models for designers, and digitisation for municipal or custodian archives. Outputs can be linked to a digital twin and cloud storage.

What to agree in advance

Flights near heritage sites often require coordination with the heritage authority, local rules, and possibly restricted airspace (DroneMap, custodian consent). Before the operation we clarify scope, required deliverables, and timing — ideally outside peak visitor periods.

Combining photogrammetry, LiDAR, and thermography gives a complete picture of the building over time. We prepare a no-obligation survey proposal via /poptavka.
